Testimonial from Palmdale Presbyterian
Church
To whom
it may
concern,
Tom Brandon’s
firm was hired by
Palmdale Church to perform repair and renovation
after the 2004 hurricanes. A large section of
the church’s roof was torn off causing
the internal
structure to be torn
down to stud. The
Church hired Holeman Suman Architects to
remodel the office space and
fellowship hall.
Renovation has the potential for uncovering
unseen difficulties. Brandon Construction did a
wonderful job responding to these.
In the
course of renovation, Tom Brandon noticed
that the
flooring in
the
sanctuary was loose. This
was an
asbestos flooring
material which requires careful handling. Mr.
Brandon hired a certified asbestos abatement
contractor instead of tiling over loose
flooring. He is a man of integrity who stands
behind his work.
The septic tank
failed, unrelated to the hurricane
damage early in
the project. Mr. Brandon was diligent
in working with
the church and the architects in getting plans
approved for a sewer hook up. Tom Brandon also
worked well with FP&L in getting the
power changed over. The church’s power panels
were replaced and the
service upgraded
to allow for
future growth.
Contracting for a
church is a difficult venture. The Pastor,
ruling elders, ground keeper, and other
church members all have an opinion on what
should be done. Some of these requests are not
only out of
scope but out of the realm of the
possible. Add to this project delays and
sub-contractor
problems. Mr. Brandon completed the
renovation before the church’s
50th
anniversary celebration. He did
his best
to be a good steward of the church’s monies and
tried to control project costs. He assisted the
church in
arbitration with the insurance firm, which lead
to a fair settlement.
I would
recommend Mr.
Brandon and his firm highly. He is responsive to
customer needs, is fair and honest.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Hopper
